Magazine Cover Design - Photoshop and Illustrator

This is a graphic design project I worked on in high school but I made a few edits and tweaks to this magazine cover recently. I've been wanting to showcase more of my graphic design work in my portfolio.

I conceptualized what my cover would be about and captured a photograph of my puppy using a Canon camera. I edited the photo in Photoshop. I then brought the image into Illustrator and began adding vector elements to create it. I played around with visual balance and emphasis. I chose colours that I felt would suit the image. I found inspiration and references as well so I could attempt to mimic a professionally designed cover.
